After spending almost 7 long months in home quarantine, many actors returned to normal life aka life on set, to resume shooting for their much-awaited projects. Well one such celebrity is Alia Bhatt, who is back on the sets of her upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi, a biographical crime drama directed by visionary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Also starring actor and choreographer Shantanu Maheshwari, the film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kothewali, madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.

In a report shared by Mid Day, a source revealed, “To maintain continuity, Sanjay sir picked up the shoot exactly from where he had left it. Since October 1, Alia and the team have been reporting to the set by 7 pm, and the stint goes on till the wee hours of the morning. Although a part of the grand set had been pulled down ahead of the monsoons, the portion resembling Kamathipura had been left untouched. So, the director has been able to shoot without any hiccup.”
