Alia Bhatt’s Look In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi To Be Coarse, Practical And Minimalistic

The gorgeous and immensely talented Alia Bhatt is currently one of the top actresses of the Hindi film industry. After winning hearts with her spectacular performances in films such as Gully Boy and Raazi, the beauty is all set to wow us once again with her upcoming project, Gangubai Kathiawadi. Based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai, a brothel owner and matriarch, the film is written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is slated to hit theatres on 11^th September this year.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the film will not have any dance sequences and Alia’s outfits will not be eye-catching. A source revealed, “Alia plays a gangster and will behave in that character. Sanjay has composed some earthy folk songs for Alia, but she won’t lip-sync them. The songs will be played in the background. In that sense, this is Sanjay’s first realistic drama since Black.” The source also added, “Her clothes would be coarse and practical, and her look would be minimalistic. There will be no concession to glamour this time.”

Comparing the film to the character Alia played in Raazi, the source shared, “Alia did pull a trigger in Raazi, but here she must look convincing as a sharpshooter; no half-measures. She has to look as if she has been holding a gun all her life.”
