    COVID -19 so far has affected more than one million folks around the globe and has claimed close to 60,000 lives so far. With homes being the safest places for everyone to be several nations have sealed borders and enforced lockdowns as a measure to prevent further spread of the disease.

    The coronavirus has also affected some illustrious artists in the short span since it was first identified, including names like Idris Alba, Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, Olga Kurylenko, Kristofer Hivju, Indira Varma and others.     Adam Schlesinger (52 – The Grammy-winning songwriter lost his life to coronavirus in New York. Adam was also nominated for an Oscar in the year 1997 for the film That Thing You Do. The songwriter was sedated and spent several days on the ventilator.

     Joe Diffie (61) –The Grammy-winning singer died in Nashville after coming in contact with the coronavirus. He was known for songs like John Deere Green and Pickup Man which helped define country music in the 90’s. The singer was working on a solo album titled ‘I Got This’.

    Floyd Cardoz (59) – The celebrity chef died in New Jersey due to COVID 19. An Indian-American Floyd was well known for winning the American reality show Top Chef Masters in 2011. He travelled from Mumbai to New York via Frankfurt and had to be hospitalized a week after.

    Mark Blum (69) – The Mozart in the Jungle actor died in New York due to coronavirus complications. Known for films like Desperately Seeking Susan, Blind Date and Just Between Friends, and was also a known face on television.

    Terrence McNally (81) The American screenwriter, a playwright lost his life to COVID-19 complications in Florida. Terrence had been a lung cancer survivor and in his career has won four Tony Awards and an Emmy.

    Lucia Bose (89) – The Italian actress who rose to prominence during the Italian neorealist wave and acted in projects like Something Creeping in the Dark, L'ospite died in Segovia, Spain due to pneumonia and COVID-19 complications.

    Andrew Jack (76) -  The actor known for appearing in the Star Wars: Episode VII – The Last Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens movies, died just two days after his COVID-19 diagnosis.  He was admitted to Chertsey hospital in England.

    Manu Dibango (86) – The Cameroonian musician died in Paris after his COVID-19 diagnosis. The African Jazz legend had a music career spanning over six decades and was known for songs like Soul Makossa and Big Blow.
