Amitabh Bachchan Books Six Flights To Send Migrants To UP, Shahid Kapoor Supports Background Dancers

During the times of crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Bollywood celebs have shown their philanthropic sides. Everyone has been doing their bit to help the needy and the vulnerable. While Sonu Sood has come across as a messiah for the migrants, other stars are also doing their bit. For example, Amitabh Bachchan sent over 1000 migrants home by booking flights whereas Shahid Kapoor is supporting background dancers!

Amitabh Bachchan had booked six flights to send home migrants- two each to Gorakhpur, Allahabad and Varanasi. According to a report in TOI, a train was to be arranged for the migrants but when that did not happen due to technical reasons, Amitabh Bachchan opted for flights. Rajesh Yadav, managing director of Amitabh Bachchan Corp Ltd said, “Bachchan saheb asked me to arrange chartered flights for the migrants as he did not want them to lose hope after being told they would be sent home.”

On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor has been supporting background dancers from his films Ishq Vishq and Shandaar. A former background dancer, Raj Surani revealed, “Shahid Kapoor recently transferred money to the bank accounts of dancers he has worked. He has extended support to around 40 dancers and has stated that he will help them for the next 2-3 months.” Before him, Sidharth Malhotra too supported 200 background dancers by sending money directly to their accounts.

Well, this just goes on to prove that our favourite Bollywood celebs are stars in the true sense of the term, isn’t it?
