Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is often unfairly blamed and trolled for her husband and star cricketer Virat Kohli’s performance on the pitch. Well, something similar happened when Virat’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost their very first match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Kings XI Punjab. Legendary cricketer and commentator Sunil Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box, pulled the cricketer’s leg with a shocking comment and even dragged his wife Anushka’s name into the statement. The actress took to her social media handle today to respond to the controversial comment.

In her post Anushka wrote: “That, Mr Gavaskar, your message is distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her for her husband's game? I'm sure over the years you have respected the private lives of every cricketer while commentating on the game. Don't you think you should have equal amount of respect for me and us?” What the actress further added will break your heart. She stated, “It's 2020 and things still don't change for me. When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping statements?”

Gavaskar’s comment has also enraged netizens who are now sharing posts slamming him and demanding for him to be removed from commentary. One fan even wrote: “It's 2020. But people have the same sick mentality. Sunil Gavaskar, a "cricket LEGEND"(as he's called) said after rcb lost that "lockdown mein bas inhone anushka ki gendo ki practic ki hai".WHAT A SHAME. #shameongavaskar PATHETIC. @BCCI @SGanguly99 #Removegavaskarfromcommentary.”
