Arjun Kapoor on Boney Kapoor marrying Sridevi: "To be asked by your best friends in school 'how does it feel having a new mom?' it's not easy"

Arjun Kapoor has always opened up about his troubled relationship with his father, producer Boney Kapoor. Arjun was a school-going child when Boney had separated from Arjun's mother, Mona Kapoor and married actress Sridevi. Now, in a recent interview, he has opened up about how kids in his school, and even his best friends used to ask him about his 'new mom' and it only made things hard for him.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Arjun Kapoor said, "I have gone through personal anguish. I have gone through personal trauma. I have gone through personal upheavals...Growing up as a kid I had to go through the separation of parents...At that point, it was very hard because my father was a high profile man...and the woman he chose to be with was the biggest superstar India has seen if you combine perhaps all the stardom of all the young actors today you would have her star status. So it was very very high profile. To be asked by kids, your best friends in school 'how does it feel having a new mom?' it's not easy. It makes you go into a shell. You become more vulnerable about things. Again this is not to create sympathy or a sad story. This is the reality...I fought through it."

Arjun has never concealed his emotions and has opened up about how hard his parents' separation was for him. It was only after Sridevi passed away suddenly that he and his sister Anshula decided to stand by Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. The four share a good bond now, and Arjun has also opened up about how his father Boney Kapoor has tried to be by his and Anshula's side.
