Ayushmann Khurrana-Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Gulabo Sitabo Release Date Finalised, Film To Premiere On Amazon Prime

What can be better than the combination of Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana? We believe it’s the fact that the film that is bringing these two actors together would be directed by Shoojit Sircar! Yes, we are talking about the Gulabo Sitabo. The film had been ready before the lockdown had begun and was basically waiting for it to be lifted for a theatrical release. But given that looks uncertain, the film will now go directly for OTT release. And we have the release date too.

The film is all set to release on 12^th June on Amazon Prime. The actors took to their social media to reveal the news. Ayushmann wrote, “Advance mein aapko book kar rahe hai! Gulabo Sitabo premieres this June 12 only on @primevideoin aa jaana fir, first day, first stream karne ☺️” Amitabh Bachchan also shared the news and wrote, “Ek izzatdaar janaab aur uske anokhe kirayedar ki kahaani. Gulabo Sitabo premieres June 12 only on @PrimeVideoIN!”

Well, while we are super excited about the news, it is being rumoured that Ayushmann Khurrana wasn’t quite happy with the decision. According to a report in Spotboye, a source was quoted saying, “We have heard that the actors wanted a big screen release for their labour of love. Every actor wants to see his or her film being played in theatres but the dynamics are perhaps strongly changing. Ayushmann definitely had a different opinion.”

The biggest fact here is that the film will finally go to the audiences and we believe it would do just as well on OTT! Before Gulabo Sitabo, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Ghoomketu also went through OTT and the film will release on 22^nd May on Zee5.
