Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is all geared up for its sequel. The first part was a roaring success and it had Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead. The film spoke about the almost hushed up subject of erectile dysfunction. And now, according to a media portal director Aanand L Rai is working on the second part. The media outlet further states that Ayushmann Khurana will again be a part of the film but this time Bhumi Pednekar will not be paired with him.

In fact, this would be a gay film that would delve into same-sex relationship between men. And Ayushmann Khurrana will be one of those few actors to be part of a project that deals with this taboo subject. Earlier very few films have spoken about homosexuality, because of the sensitivity of the topic.

Elaborating even more on the film, the report states that Actor Divyendu Sharma will play Ayushmann’s lover. Divyendu had earlier worked in quite a few successful films but never as the main lead. In this film too he will have a second lead character of sorts. Divyendu who has played the role of Akshay Kumar’s brother in Toilet-Ek Prem Katha and has also played a hugely appreciated negative character in the web series Mirzapur has been roped in to play this character without which the film would be incomplete. The film is expected to go on floors in the month of September.

It has been further reported that R.S. Prasanna who had directed the first film which also happened to be his directorial debut will not be directing the second installation because apparently he has been collaborating with producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and that made him busy and unavailable for the film at hand and that this was also the reason why Aanand decided to get a new director for the film.
