Bhumi Pednekar on beginning Raksha Bandhan shoot with Akshay Kumar: ‘I was itching to be back on sets’

After winning hearts with their chemistry in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar and the very talented Bhumi Pednekar are joining hands once again for Raksha Bandhan. A few days ago, the actress shared the happy news on social media with the message: “A very special film & a very special reunion. Am supremely excited to be collaborating again with two of my favourite creative powerhouses & humans. Am full of gratitude to be a part of this special, heart-touching story #RakshaBandhan.”

Helmed by Aanand L Rai, the film is reportedly one of the first to resume shoot post the second wave of coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown. In a chat with Mid Day, Bhumi expressed her happiness about returning to work. She was quoted saying, “I was itching to be back on the sets. I consider myself fortunate to be starting work as soon as the unlocking began in Maharashtra. The industry has gone through a lot since last year, and it has been pushed to the brink by the pandemic.”

Other than Raksha Bandhan, Bhumi has two other exciting projects in the pipeline-- Badhaai Do opposite Rajkummar Rao and Shashank Khaitan's spy comedy Mr. Lele, co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani.
