Bhumi Pednekar On Takht Director Karan Johar: He Was Always On My Bucket List

One of the most talented and sought-after actresses of the Hindi film industry, Bhumi Pednekar is currently soaring high on the success of her recent releases Saand Ki Aankh, Bala and Pati Patni Aur Woh. Not only did she win hearts with her different characters, but also proved her versatility as an artist. The beauty is now gearing up for her upcoming projects, which include Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and period drama Takht.

In a recent chat with Miss Malini, the actress opened up about Takht director Karan Johar and shared, “I think I have got the jackpot. Karan (Johar) is amazing. He was always on my bucket list. The fact that he is trying a period drama and it is an experiment for him too and if he thought that I could do justice to his character is a very big compliment to me. He is one of my most favourite people. I just adore him and I’m very excited for Takht as the cast is fantastic. There some brilliant minds coming together and I can see what Karan is doing for the film. I’m in awe with his vision.”

Also starring Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor, the period drama is set in the 17th century Mughal India during the reign of the Emperor Shah Jahan. According to reports, Bhumi will be portraying the character of Dara Shukoh’s first wife and chief consort.
