    Bhumi Pednekar Wins Her First International Award, Says “I Am Proud Of It”!

    Bhumi Pednekar might not have appeared in many films. Till now, she has just appeared in 4 films, but she has made sure that she shows her range in every role that she takes up, be it the overweight girl from Dum Laga Ke Haisha, or the survivor of domestic abuse and rape in Sonchiriya!

    Bhumi is right now in Busan for the premiere of her film, Dolly, Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare. The film has been directed by Alankrita Srivastava of Lipstick Under My Burkha fame and co-stars Konkona Sensharma. The film has created a buzz in Busan International Film Festival and has also given Bhumi her first International Award.

    Bhumi has bagged the ‘Face Of Asia’ Award at the prestigious event. And needless to say, she is overwhelmed. Talking about the win, she said,

    "I am humbled and very touched that my work has resonated with audiences and critics in Busan. It's my first international win so I am very proud of it. I have aspired to act in films that have something important to say and have worked sincerely to deliver convincing performances. I hope to be part of brilliant cinema that will be liked and remembered fondly in future." 

    She has also thanked her crew for giving her the opportunity. Bhumi might have appeared in just 4 films till now, but she has over 5 projects on her kitty right now. Apart from Dolly Kitty, she will be seen in Saand Ki Aankh which is all set to release in Diwali. She will also be a part of Bala, that will release in November and Pati, Patni Aur Woh in December. She will have a cameo in Vicky Kaushal’s Bhoot Part 1:The Haunted Ship, and will share screen space with him once again in Takht!
