Reports about the remake of Mahesh Bhatt’s Arth have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Over a month ago, producer Sharat Chandra had also confirmed that Bollywood star Bobby Deol has been approached to play the male lead in the drama, which was portrayed by Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the 1982 film. He had also revealed that they are in the final stage of discussions with him. However, the actor had chosen not to speak about the project.

Well, in his latest interview with ETimes, the Aashram star finally opened up about the reports and confirmed the news. He was quoted saying, “I am in talks but have not signed it as yet.” Other than Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez and Swara Bhasker’s name has also been linked to the Arth remake. Taapsee Pannu was also reportedly offered the chance to reprise the role played by Shabana Azmi in the original. However, she could not say yes to the film due to other upcoming projects.
