Bollywood Celebs And Films We Are Hoping Will Make Us Proud At The National Film Awards 2019

After a couple of high profile award ceremonies, finally, the National Film Awards are upon us. While National Awards have been focusing on regional films since the past few years, 2018 came up with several Bollywood films that could make us proud. Now don't take this the wrong way, we totally support regional films getting the recognition that they have always deserved at the National Film Awards but we also think these entries from Bollywood can win big this year.

Best Film: Badhaai Ho

No one thought this niche film could evoke the reaction it did. From audiences to critics, there was hardly anyone who did not like this film that managed to talk about a really sensitive issue in the most entertaining way.

Best Actor- Ranveer Singh (Padmaavat)

It is Ranveer Singh’s year, make no mistake about that. We know he has already been honored with a couple of awards for playing Khilji in Padmaavat, but the National Award would be a well-deserved feather for his hat.

Best Actress- Neena Gupta (Badhaai Ho)

Neena Gupta deserves the award just for the courage that she displayed when she decided to play a pregnant woman on-screen at the age of 59. It also helps that she gave a performance that is superlative, to say the least, and literally took the limelight away from every other actress out there.

Best Director: Sriram Raghavan ( AndhaDhun)

As a movie buff who is also madly in love with Bollywood, Sriram Raghavan made me proud when I saw AndhaDhun. We are all proud that this film was indeed made by a man who is the part of our beloved Bollywood and that is perhaps the biggest reason why Sriram Raghavan should win the National Award.

Best Music: Amit Trivedi (Manmarziyaan)

In a world where remakes are the order of the day, Amit Trivedi is one person who insists on keeping it original. We do not remember the last time when each and every song from an album tugged at our hearts' strings the way Manmarziyaan did. Amit Trivedi’s talent and hard work deserve the honor of a National Award.
