Bunty Aur Babli: You Would Never Believe Who Was Approached For Abhishek Bachchan’s Role

Back in 2005, when Bunty aur Babli hit the screens, it was a treat for the filmy fans in us. Apart from the comic heirst laced with an unique romantic story, the film made tons of Bollywood references that made it super fun to watch.

The film also gave a new impetus to Abhishek Bachchan’s career as it was his first super hit as a solo hero. The character of Rakesh a.k.a. Bunty looked like a character that was tailor made for him and Abhishek totally did justice to it.

However, the character was not really custom made for Abhishek as he was not the first choice for the role of Bunty. Initially, the makers had approached Hrithik Roshan for the role. However, Hrithik Roshan who was reeling under the disaster of Mujhse Dosti Karoge at that time put forward a condition that he will only do the film if Aditya Chopra or Yash Chopra directed it.

However, the makers finally went with director Shaad Ali and cast Abhishek Bachchan for the role and interestingly it became the first film where Abhishek was seen sharing the screen space with dad Amitabh Bachchan for the first time.
