    Captain Vikram Batra 21st Martyrdom Day: Shershaah Actor Sidharth Malhotra Remembers The Kargil War Hero

    21 years ago today, Captain Vikram Batra sacrificed his life for his country while fighting Pakistani intruders during the Kargil war of 1999. Celebrating his bravery and his love for the nation, actor Sidharth Malhotra took to his social media handle to share a special post. Along with a short clip, he penned a caption which read: “Salute to the Indian army for their undying service to the nation and To our Kargil hero #VikramBatra who laid down his life today, 21 years ago.”

    In 2003, Abhishek Bachchan played the role of Captain Vikram in the historical war drama LOC Kargil. After 17 long years, Sidharth is all set to win hearts with his portrayal of the Kargil war hero in the upcoming film Shershaah. Directed by Vishnuvardhan and co-produced by Karan Johar, the much-awaited film follows the life journey of the Param Vir Chakra awardee. While Sidharth will be portraying a double role, of Vikram and his twin brother Vishal Batra, Kiara Advani will be playing the role of his on-screen fiancé Dimple Cheema.
