Cirkus: Ranveer Singh To Play A Double Role For The First Time In This Rohit Shetty Film

Ranveer Singh has two films up for release that we have been waiting for eagerly! While he would become Kapil Dev in Khabir Khan's '83, which hopefully will release early next year, he will play a Gujju opposite debutant Shalini Sharma in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. He will also have a cameo appearance in Sooryavanshi. Now, he has signed yet another film with his Simmba director Rohit Shetty, and the best part is that, he would play a double role in the film.

Yes, you read that right. Rohit and Ranveer will team up once again for a film called Cirkus, which is being touted as the adaptation of the Shakespearean play The Comedy Of Errors. The film would also star celebs like Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma. What's more- Ranveer will essay a double role for the first time in his career. A source close to the film informed Mid Day, "Ranveer will be seen in a double role for the first time as he plays a pair of identical twins who were separated from each other. Each twin also has an identical attendant, essayed by Varun Sharma. The laugh riot will trace how the foursome cross paths, leading to a case of mistaken identity and confusion. While Rohit has stayed true to the outline of the source material, he has introduced new plot twists and characters. The film will be Rohit's take on The Comedy of Errors and have his signature brand of humour."

The film will also star Mukesh Tiwari, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, and Vrajesh Hirjee, among others. The makers are eyeing for Winter 2021 release and the first leg would be shot at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai, where the sets are being created. Cirkus will also be shot in Ooty and Goa.
