Deepika Padukone says 'Many times I didn't feel like living anymore' as she opens up about depression to Amitabh Bachchan on KBC 13

Deepika Padukone has been a champion when it comes to fighting for the cause of mental health. The actor, who had suffered from depression herself, opened up about the dark phase once again to Amitabh Bachchan on KBC 13. In fact, she also revealed, with hesitation, that she didn't feel like living anymore many a times.

Interacting with Amitabh Bachchan on the sets of KBC, Deepika said, “Sir, in 2014, I had depression. I subsequently set up a mental health organisation, through which we try to de-stigmatise mental illness and create awareness about mental health. I didn't feel like going to work, I didn't feel like meeting anybody. I didn't go out. I didn't feel like doing anything. Many times, and I don't know if I should say this, but I didn't feel like living anymore.”

Farah, who was on the hot seat with Deepika said, “I swear, we didn't even realise 1% what she's going through. For many years, I used to think that she's never been through anything like this.” Amitabh Bachchan then said, “We pray that you never experience anything like this ever again. By sharing your personal story with everyone, you have inspired others who might be going through something like this.” Truly, we hope that the stigma around mental health cease to exist so that people can seek help when they are going through depression or any mental illness.
