    Deepika Padukone has prepared an exciting line-up to entertain her fans in the times ahead. One of her very ambitious projects which she will be co-producing with Madhu Mantena, based on Mahabharat has however been put on hold for now according to recent reports.

    Bringing alive the magic on an epic like Mahabharat in no way sounds like an easy task and Deepika who will be playing Draupadi apart from producing the film need to be doubly sure that the project lands smoothly. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the makers of the film have not yet been able to find a filmmaker who will be the right fit to helm this project thus brining all work on this film on a hold for now.

    The project based on the epic of Mahabharat was announced nearly two years ago now made a considerable amount of noise on social media has not yet found a director whose vision aligns with that of its producers. A source close to the development tells the portal, “One of the many directors in the race to direct Draupadi was Vishal Bharadwaj, but things fell through. After all these years, the buzz is, the film is finally put on hold for the time being and will be revived at a later time frame.”

    While waiting for Draupadi to happen Deepika seems to have amassed a big pile of work herself and is looking at a rather busy two years ahead including films like Pathan, Fighter, a film with Prabhas and Shkun Batra’s next. The report, however, assures that the film on Draupadi adapted from the novel, The Palace Of Illusions, will be revisited at another time in the future.
