Ekta Kapoor To Forsake A Year’s Salary, To Contribute Rs. 2.5 Crores To The Workers At Balaji Telefilms

EThe world has been hit by the coronnavirus pandemic and even though everyone has been hit by this novel disease, it is the poor and the vulnerable section who has to bear the brunt. Due to the lockdown, those who earn their bread on a daily basis has been rendered jobless. The stars of our Hindi film industry has been contributing freely to help them and Ekta Kapoor has also joined in with her contribution.

She put out a state on her social media account and wrote, “ The impact of CORONA crisis is huge, unprecedented and multi-pronged. We all need to do things that will ease the hardships of people around us and of our country at large. It is my first and foremost responsibility to take care of the various freelancers and daily wage workers who work at Balaji Telefilms & who are going to suffer immense losses due to no shootings in the current scenario and uncertainty over the indefinite period to follow.
I would thus forsake one years’s salary, that is Rs. 2.5 crores at Balaji Telefilms so that my co-workers don’t have to take a hit during this period of crisis and complete lockdown. The only way ahead is together . Stay safe. Stay Healthy.”
