EXCLUSIVE: Kavi Kumar WAS NOT COMATOSE, Passed Away In His Sleep – Read on!

It is indeed a sad news that such a wonderfully lively character meets such a tragic end! Guess, that is what providence is all about! Kavi Kumar Azad aka Dr Haathi in Neela Telefilms’ Taarak Mehta was one of the most loved characters in the show. His elephant gait, his funny smile and his trademark laughter made him a comic star in his own right! You can’t take that away from him.

The actor passed away this afternoon of cardiac arrest.

Desimartini.com got in touch with Wockhardt Hospital in Mira Road (a Mumbai suburb) and we came to know that Mr Azad was brought to the hospital in the afternoon and he was immediately shifted to the emergency ward where he was declared dead! As opposed to whatever has been printed or said about him slipping into a coma in the media!

We also spoke to insiders in the Neela Telefilms series and they confided, “Kumar was already sick since Friday. He took his medicine and left early but he came for his shoot schedule on Saturday. He was pretty well, he shot his sequence, took his medicine and left!

The source further added, “However, it was a unit day off on Sunday, which is why he did not require to report to the shoot. There was a meeting scheduled this (Monday) afternoon with him and his shoot was scheduled for this afternoon as well. In the morning, he took his medicine and thought of resting before leaving for his day’s work. That’s when he slept, never to wake up again.

Irked at the media reports, the source hollered “the media reports are ioutrageous, how did he slip into coma and when because he was shooting in front of us. He was on set! When the production guys had a word with him this morning, we came to know that he had even taken his medicine! He was not in any coma!”

A distraught Asit Modi told us, “He was the most jovial person on the set. He made sure everyone laughed!” The producer further gave us a hint of his funeral, stating, “It might happen tomorrow.”
