Exclusive- Jassie Gill used to think of going to Canada to become a truck driver as a career alternative if he couldn't sing or act

Jassie Gill is a popular name, not just in the Punjabi industry but also in Bollywood. The handsome hunk began his journey in the land of entertainment as a singer. A few years later, he tried his luck at acting and left the audience in awe. He later made his debut in the Hindi film industry with Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty and Jimmy Sheirgill. Jassie went on to share the screen with Bollywood’s queen Kangana Ranaut in Panga and is currently busy soaring high on the success of his latest Hindi film, Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai? Well, in a recent interview with Desimartini, the actor revealed what his alternate career choice was before his singing debut.

Talking about the love he has received from fans and the industry, Jassie shared, “Main toh humesha bolta hun ki bohot blessed hun, babaji ki mehr hai ki main iss industry mein aaya aur mujhe yeh kaam karne ka mauka mila. Aur agar iske bina main kuchh sochta, mujhe dimaag mein nahi aata ki main aur kya karta, agar main naa gaata hota. Toh matlab main bohot sochta hun pehele yeh tha ki driving kar lete, Canada chale jaate truck chala lete wahaan pe. But ek jo sukoon hai, aur jo ek relaxed rehta hai mind, woh music mein rehta hai (I have always said that I am blessed, it is because of God’s kindness that I am a part of this industry and I’m getting to do this work. I can’t even think of what I would have done if I couldn’t sing. I used to think I could drive, I could go to Canada and drive a truck there. But I find peace only in music).”

For the uninitiated, Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai is a fictional retelling of an incident which went viral on social media. Someone had written ‘Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai’ on a currency note and its picture set the internet on fire. In the film, Surbhi Jyoti has played the role of Sonam Gupta, whereas Jassie has portrayed the character of the heartbroken ‘aashiq’ who wrote the words on a note. The comedy premiered on ZEE5 a few days ago.
