EXCLUSIVE: Rashami Desai Is Of My Age, It’s Not Wrong If My Daughter Calls Her Aunty – Mahira Sharma’s Mom

Recently it was during an interview with a web portal that Mahira’s mother and Rashami’s brother engaged in a war of words about a particular episode where the latter was pretty vocal about how bad he felt when Mahira’s mother made the ‘bedroom’ comment. However, there was a high point in the interview when Saniya Sharma (Mahira’s mom) told him to his face if you want to talk, go on, I will leave! Yes, that is what she said! 

Well, Saniya felt that he Gaurav Desai (Rashami’s brother) needed to shut up. “He was just going on and on, he wasn’t keeping quiet! I told him that we already did an interview about it, we are here to talk about something else and you are digging up the same old past.”

Trying to justify her ‘bedroom’ statement on the scowl between Rashami and Mahira, Saniya stated, she could not be held responsible because it was Rashami’s comments on Mahira that lead her to say what she said. She went on to mimic Rashami in the interview saying ‘Mahira kachre se uthai gayi hai, Mahira marr gayi’ this that and the other. Gaurav’s tried to level her accusations saying it was not just Rashami alone, and that Mahira too was arguing badly with her. However, speaking to Desimartini.com exclusively she revealed, “Mahira didn’t say a word to Rashmi. The thing is when Siddharth was being targeted, Mahira interrupted saying ‘aap log seedha chadd jaate ho uske upar’ (all of you just attack him at the same time). Besides that, Mahira didn’t say a word to Rashami."

"Even on the day the media entered the house, Rashmi alleged, Mahira calls her aunty, that’s when my daughter retorted saying, ‘you make a doll and call me ‘Bacchi’ (a little girl) what else should I call you, ‘mummy hi bolenge na?’ She doesn’t call her 'mummy' every day.”

Saniya further went on to reveal Rashami’s age and how calling her aunty would anyway not be wrong! “‘Rashami is of my age. I just got married a little early, I had kids very early, she is more than forty. My daughter was just born, when Rashami was already acting in serials. She has been acting in Bhojpuri films for 20 years now. It has already been 14 to 15 years since ‘Uttaran’. When she was acting in Bhojpuri films, Mahira wasn’t even one year old. She has been acting since then! That is why if she would call her ‘aunty’, technically there should be no problem. Rashami was married, and today if she would have been a mother, her child would be of 5 to 6 years - it would have been apt to call her aunty then anyway! That’s what everyone calls a woman of her age!”

Thereafter she went on to question Rashami’s brother addressing her as aunty. When Rashami’s brother can call me aunty, why can’t my daughter call her aunty? She asked!
