EXCLUSIVE: Sohum Shah says he joined Bollywood because of Shah Rukh Khan, feels like he is finally doing what he always wanted to do

Sohum Shah has been in the Hindi film industry for almost a decade now. The actor, who has been a part of several critically acclaimed films like Ship of Theseus and Tumbaad, is now breaking the mould with projects like Bigg Bull and Maharani. In an exclusive chat with us, he opened up about finally being able to do massy projects and reaching to more people through his work.

Sohum Shah, who considers Shah Rukh Khan his inspiration to be a part of Bollywood, told us, "I have been a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan and am a part of the film industry because I was inspired by him. When I had come to the industry, I had thought I’ll be a part of some music video and people will look at me and say ‘Isme ek chota Shah Rukh Khan chuppa huya hai’. I have come with that idea aur mujhe aaj bhi who karna hai, mujhe jazzy music video banana hai. But aapki destiny me shayad kuch aur hota hai."

He further added that now is the most amazing time of his career and said, "It feels very good. I have been working in this industry for 10 years. I come from a small town, where we have grown up watching massy, larger than life cinemas. I have always wanted to do something like this. Finally, the time has come with Big Bull, Maharani and the upcoming series Fallen which are more accessible. Like Maharani is reaching to more people, is a massy series. So finally, I am able to do what I have wanted to do, it is reaching people. So it’s one of the most amazing times in my career."

Sohum will next be seen in Reema Kagti's Fallen.
