Fatima Sana Shaikh Reveals She Had Been Molested At the Age Of Three, Opens Up About Casting Couch Incident

Fatima Sana Shaikh had been a part of the industry for quite a long time now but it was with Dangal that she got noticed. She hit another roadblock when Thugs Of Hindostan flopped, but now, times seem to be better for her. She will be seen in two back to back films- Ludo and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. Now, in a recent interview, she has opened up about being molested as a child and facing casting couch in the industry.

Speaking to Pinkviila, Fatima revealed that she had been molested when she was just three years old! She said, "I was molested when I was just three years old. There is a stigma around the whole sexual abuse issue, which is why women and even don't open up about being exploited in life. But I hope, today the world changes. There is more awareness and education about it. Pehle toh yehi kaha jaata tha that don't speak about it. People will think about it differently."

She also revealed that she had also faced a casting couch when she stepped into the Hindi film industry. She said, " I have been in situations where I have been told that the only way I get the job is by having sex. There are several times people have taken away work from me. There have also been times where I knew I was doing a film and I was replaced because of someone's reference."

Well, we hope that things like sexual abuse just cease to be and those who do it are named and shamed publicly!
