From Amitabh Bachchan To Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala To Pay A Tribute To Eight Bollywood Icons

Apart from being a stellar performer and a game-changer in so many ways, Ayushmann Khurrana is an ardent Bollywood fan by his own admission. For his upcoming film Bala, he is thus paying a much loved tributes to some of the most memorable icons of Bollywood.

The list includes Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan, Bobby Deol and a few others. But, Ayushmann is not doing a mimicry or caricature act of some kind but the attempt is to seamlessly integrate certain signature traits of these iconic stars and their even more iconic on-screen character into the being of Bala.

Talking about Ayushmann pulling off the feat, Amar Kaushik, who is directing the film, said, “To pay tribute to these legends of Hindi cinema, I couldn’t think of a better actor than Ayushmann. He has an eye for detail and is also a true cinema lover who has followed the work of all these superstars. So when I discussed the idea of paying tributes to these stars, Ayushmann was very excited. We were clear in our minds that our tribute will not mimic these superstars but rather integrate their acting styles seamlessly into our storyline so that it becomes a true homage to their body of work. It was brilliant directing an actor like Ayushmann in these scenes.”

While we were already counting days for the release of the film, this news has definitely stoked our interests even further.
