Gangubai Kathiawadi: Ajay Devgn And Emraan Hashmi To Star Opposite Alia Bhatt In This Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film?

A lot of speculations have been going on around Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. It would be going on floors soon and contrary to the rumours, the set of the film still stands tall and with a little rework, it would be all set. Alia Bhatt would essay the titular role but there had been several reports around the male led. It was said that Ajay Devgn might be seen opposite Alia. And now, we are getting to hear that it would not just be Ajay but there would be another actor joining the film as well.

We are talking about Emraan Hasmi. If a report by Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then Emraan has already silently shot some parts of the film with Alia Bhatt. A source told the portal, “While Emraan has already shot for his portions silently earlier this year with Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn is expected to join Alia and co. once the shooting resumes post lockdown. Ajay plays the character of a gangster, Karim Lala, while not much is known about Emraan’s role. Both their characters have their own swag, style and SLB felt that the two actors fit the bill perfectly.”

Well, that comes as a shocker, isn’t it? Earlier, it was being said that Ajay Devgn might join Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his other upcoming film, Baiju Bawra instead of Gangubai. The source spoke about that as well and revealed, ““Ajay too was in talks for the film for another role. However, there has been no progress on that front at the moment as Ajay’s calendar is filled with multiple releases.”

This is surely increasing our expectations from Gangubai Kathiawadi, isn’t it? The film was slated to release in September this year but might be delayed due to the lockdown of three months.
