Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor draws flak for post against use of crackers, netizens dig out an old Diwali pic featuring him & firecrackers

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor voiced concern over the consistent use of firecrackers on Diwali. The actor, however, got trolled instead as a few netizens dug out old pictures of Diwali celebrations where Anil Kapoor can be seen lighting up a cracker outside his home, Harsh Varrdhan and Sonam Kapoor also feature in the photo.

“People still bursting firecrackers all over the place.. my pets are scared, it’s uncomfortable for everyone at home and really bad for the environment in more ways than one.. I’ve never been a prisoner to cultural presets for these reasons.. common sense has to prevail sometimes,” Harsh Varrdhan wrote in a now-deleted tweet on Diwali.

The actor’s post didn’t sit well with a few people who then shared an old picture of him celebrating Diwali with his family where Anil Kapoor can be seen lighting up crackers. Harsh Varrdhan did respond to a few replies that called him out for his post against crackers and defended his stand explaining how the picture being circulated is old and how one should be capable of learning and progressing.

When one user sharing the picture commented on the Bhavesh Joshi actor’s post, “True ! Even we are against it . BTW who's he ?” he replied, “Was years ago.. but as we progress we learn more and try and better our ways .. at least some of us.”

Another user commented: “Is that you bro on the left of Sonam? Didn't stop your dad from bursting firecrackers? Or your common sense has prevailed recently only?”

The star kid replied: “Recently bro... open to change ... are you? Yeah didn't think so”

Harsh Varrdhan later ended up deleting all his posts on the subject after continued backlash.
