Hema Malini Sides With Jaya On Drug Allegations Against Film Industry, ‘The Way People Are Targeting Bollywood Is Bad’

After Parliamentarian Jaya Bachchan slammed Kangana Ranaut’s drug connection comments in the Rajya Sabha and raised the issue of an alleged ‘conspiracy to defame Bollywood’, a lot of support poured in for the veteran actress on social media from the film fraternity.

It was during the Monsoon session of the Parliament that she stated that some people are intentionally trying to tarnish the image of the entertainment industry. And now former actress and Rajya Sabha MP Hema Malini has also supported Jaya and has agreed with her comments and in the process has indirectly hinted that people have falsely implicated Bollywood.

In an interview with NDTV, she said, that ‘it’ [dug issue] must have happened here because it is happening everywhere, “Must have happened in our industry also, that doesn’t mean the entire industry is bad. The way in which people are targeting Bollywood is bad. It is not like that at all,” she told the channel.

Jaya Bachchan had stated in the parliament that because of a few, the entire industry cannot be shown in a bad light and she also slammed Ravi Kishan [without taking names] saying he has earned his bread and butter from Bollywood and now he is badmouthing the industry, “Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry... I was really embarrassed and ashamed that yesterday one our members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the industry, spoke against the film industry. Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chhed karte hain,” she said.

Many Bollywood actors and actresses including Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Taapsee Pannu, Anubhav Sinha, Richa Chaddha supported Jaya Bachchan.
