Here Is How Varun Dhawan And Sara Ali Khan Starrer Coolie No. 1 Remake Will Be Different From The Original

Varun Dhawan is all set to star in yet another remake after Judwaa 2 and this time the actor will be stepping into Govinda’s shoes for Coolie No 1. The 1995 blockbuster that tickled our funny bone was one of the best collaborations of the hit actor-director jodi David Dhawan and Govinda. Sara Ali Khan will be playing Karisma Kapoor’s role from the original and seeing her bubbly energy we are sure it would be a treat.

While the makers are planning to announce the film on April 24, which is Varun’s birthday, some details about the project are already here.

Songs –

Two super hit songs from the original Coolie No. 1 will be included in the remake. ‘Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha’ and ‘Husn Hai Suhana’, two songs which are still a rage, are expected to be retained with the original voices. The songs will be re-imagined with Sara and Varun in the picture.

Varun Dhawan's Role–

If you imagine that Varun will be wearing the red and white uniform to play a coolie, you must know that you will be disappointed. Unlike Amitabh Bachchan or Govinda who we have seen wearing these uniforms for their movies in the past, Varun will be seen as a trendier coolie. The actor will pull of the part in a t-shirt and jeans instead.

He will also not be seen spending as much time at his place of work – a railway station – and the film is expected to soon move on to the love story and the comedy and drama.

Sara Ali Khan’s role –

We cannot imagine anyone fit into the shoes of Karisma Kapoor better than Sara Ali Khan for this remake. The role of the actress could be very close to her real-life avatar, which will be to play a bubbly and chirpy girl on screen, much like Karisma was in the original.

Story –

As admitted by Varun Dhawan himself in the past, the film will be more of an adaptation of the original Coolie No. 1 than be a ditto copy. While the film will retain the concept, the remake will be heavily re-imagined.

Film’s announcement –

The Dhawan family including Varun’s girlfriend Natasha Dalal are expected to announce the film on Varun’s birthday, April 24, at an event that will also be graced by Govinda.
