    However, one of these traditions is finally coming to an end. Kapoor family has finally decided to discontinue their 70-year- old tradition of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp and show at the legendary RK Studios which was started by Raj Kapoor himself. The decision came in the wake of Kapoors selling off the studio that was out of operation for a long time. Talking about the episode, Randhir Kapoor said, “We all love Bappa and have immense faith in him, but I guess, we can’t continue with the tradition anymore.”

    Kapoor family decided to sell the iconic RK Studios that has belonged to the family for 70 years in August 2018 as the maintenance cost of the property was not proving to be economically viable for them. While we surely understand the decision, we will surely miss the starry seeing Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and all other illustrious members of this iconic family on their grand Visarjan procession.
