HTLS 2020: Priyanka’s Husband Nick Talks About Being The National Jiju: Says ‘Happy To Be Sister’s Husband’

Movie buffs felt an array of mixed emotions the day our Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra tied the nuptial knot with American singer and heartthrob Nick Jonas. While most of the nation and fans were over the moon with joy, some were heartbroken to see that one of the most desirable women of our country was taken! Nick and Priyanka had a fairytale wedding in Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace and India got its beloved National Jiju. The happy couple recently celebrated their 2^nd wedding anniversary.

Nick, who was a part of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2020, was asked if he knows the significance of the word ‘Jiju’ in our country. Well in his first ever interview to an Indian media publication, the singer stated, “Well, I think that Priyanka is a sister to the country in a way.” Priyanka laughed and interrupted, “I have become the sister since you married me. I wasn’t a sister..” Nick continued to add, “I’m happy to be sister’s husband. So it’s a beautiful thing.”

How sweet is that! Talking about the term ‘National Jiju’ given to Nick by fans, PeeCee stated, “I think the name was coined during our wedding on social media. We suddenly started seeing ‘National Jiju’ trending everywhere. It was so cute.”

Well, Nick has once again managed to win our hearts!
