Hungama 2: Akshaye Khanna To Have An Extended Cameo In The Priyadarshan Film? Here's What We Know

Priyadarshan's Hungama was an instant hit and many people expected that the second part of the franchise would also have Akshaye Khanna, who played the lead in the first. However, the director announced the film with a fresh cast that consisted of Paresh Rawal (who was also a part of the first), Shilpa Shetty, Meezan and Pranitha Subhash. Needless to say, Akshaye Khanna fans were a little disappointed. Now, they have every reason to rejoice as Khanna will return in the film.

However, Akshaye Khanna would not play a full-fledged role in this one. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the actor will be seen in an extended cameo. A source told the portal, “Akshaye Khanna, who played the main protagonist in Hungama has come on board Hungama 2 for a special extended cameo. He has already shot for his portion and it has been all kept under total wrap.” He further added, “The film is a franchise and not a sequel. It’s a fresh story that’s in sync with the world of Hungama and hence, the makers decided on calling it Hungama 2. Akshaye Khanna’s cameo is in the film for not just nostalgia purpose, but also plays a key role in taking the story forward, adding onto the conflict.”

It has also been reported a few days back that the film will hit theatres in May. However, the official announcement is yet to be made.
