Irrfan Khan Death Anniversary: Son Babil Remembers The Time He Saw Him Act, Says 'He Took Over Everything, I Would've Loved Him To Watch Me'

It has been exactly a year since legendary actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last. He had been diagnosed with cancer and had been making a good recovery. However, soon after his mother passed away, the actor's health deteriorated and within a week, he left for his heavenly abode. While the audiences and film lovers in general can feel the void that he has left, we can only imagine the pain that his family have been feeling. Now, on his first death anniversary, his son Babil has opened up about the late actor.

In an earlier interview, wife Sutapa had said that Irrfan really wanted to work with Babil and had also been looking at a script where they can both face the camera. Now Babil, in an interview with ETimes, has remembered the only time his father was able to watch him act. Talking about it, he revealed, "He saw me act once, though ( laughs)! I was assisting the camera team in Qarib Qarib Single. There was this shot where me and my then-girlfriend, we had this one second shot as extras. And he was so excited to see me in front of the camera, he just took over ( laughs)! He wouldn’t even let Tanuja ma’am say ‘action’ also! He took over everything, he came to say ‘action’, I saw this joy on his face, I can’t explain it to you…I would have loved for him to watch me."

That is one dream of the actor that would always remain unfulfilled. Babil is all set to make his acting debut with Anvita Dutt's Qala, that would also star Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee.
