Ishaan Khatter Opens Up About Khaali Peeli Co-Star Ananya Panday, Calls Her A 'Director's Pet'

Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer Khaali Peeli had hit the screens last Friday. The Bollywood masala was a hit at drive-in theatres but couldn't do well elsewhere. But Ishaan seems to be happy about the film. In a recent interview, he has opened up about his character in the film and why it is special. He has also spoken about Ananya Panday.

Talking to Mirror, he spoke highly of Ananya Panday. He said, "Ananya’s charming and goofy at the same time, she blends in with different people without losing her own individuality," adding that she is a 'director's pet'.

He also called his character in the film, Blackie, fascinating and said that he had to work hard to get that build for the character and learn Bambaiya Hindi. He plated Blackie to Ananya's Pooja and since the film was a classic masala, he also got to show his moves. Ishaan asserted that dance is his first love and hopes to be a part of a musical someday. He said, "Down the years, our films have been musicals, but they’re getting rarer by the day. Music is ingrained in our storytelling, so, I hope we see an evolution rather than a discontinuation of such films."
