Jaan Kumar Sanu calls Bigg Boss 14’s nepotism debate the stupidest thing that Rahul Vaidya did

One of the most talked about and shocking controversies began in the Bigg Boss 14 house when singer and Indian Idol 1’s second runner up Rahul Vaidya nominated Jaan Kumar Sanu for eviction. Rahul stated that he hates nepotism and added that while everybody in the reality show came inside on the basis of their hard work, Jaan got to participate because he is singer Kumar Sanu’s son. What Rahul did not know was that Jaan’s parents separated even before he came into the world. Jaan revealed the same later in the show. Host and superstar Salman Khan slammed Rahul for his comment and the singer later apologized to Jaan. But the damage was done.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, when Jaan was asked about the same, he replied, “The nepotism debate began on Bigg Boss with Rahul [Vaidya, singer and co-contestant]. That was the stupidest thing he did. My parents separated before I was born. I didn’t have any support from dad, and didn’t know I was his son [for a while]. If I had that card to play, I would have had 50 films behind me, and would be hanging out with the top guns. But, I am earning my daily bread.”

The young singer went on to share, “I have waited in garages, parking lots, and staircases for one opportunity to be heard, and I’ve been denied that as well. That’s how it was for my father too. He had to work his way up, and looking at his journey, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve seen people squander their name just because they achieved fame too easily.”

What is your opinion on the infamous nepotism debate?
