John Abraham Sets An Example As Batla House Ends Its Run At 99.90 Crores

Time and again one has heard stories of stars and filmmakers inflating the collections of their films. Considering the fact that in Bollywood there is yet to be a systemised way of box office tracking, more often than not even the industry relies on the collections that are shared by the producers.

This is where some kind of adjustment happens where to get into the record books or to gain an entry into the 100 Crore Club or 200 Crore Club, there is some sort of inflation that takes place. Though it was more prominent till a few years back, when sometimes inflation used to range as much as 10%-20%, in the current times it (allegedly) does happen for around 5% in certain cases.

This is where John Abraham has set an example like no one before. Even though he must have been tempted to see Batla House, his latest release, make it to the 100 Crore Club, he has let go of that, what with the film ending its run at a precise 99.90 crores. This means that there hasn’t been even 0.1% inflation added to the collections of the film when most filmmakers wouldn’t have minded rounding off even 99 crores to 100 crores, leave aside 99.90 crores to 100 crores.

This pretty much reiterates the kind of integrity quotient that John Abraham boasts of as he could well be hungry to have a 100 Crore Club success to his name. His Welcome Back too had ended in the 90s while Satyameva Jayate too had closed its run at 90 crores. Yes, he has a couple of 100 Crore Club films to his name in the worm of Housefull 2 and Race 2. However, these have been multistarrer affairs and a solo biggie has an altogether different charm to it.

However, John was sure that he wanted to reflect the right picture and even if it meant letting go of the temptation of the century milestone, he was fine with that.

Now that’s setting an example indeed and how one wishes that with Paagalpanti, Attack and Satuameva Jayate 2, he strikes even bigger.
