Baljeet Parmar is an veteran journalist who is synonymous with crime reproting! The journalist claims to have dined with Dawood Ibrahim and shot by Chota Rajan. Along with all of that, he was also the journalist who broke the news of Sanjay Dutt's arrest after the Mumbai blasts. In a recent media report, Baljeet Parmar reveals how he got an inkling about Sanjay Dutt's name being involved in the 93 blast investigations.

He says a month after the blasts he used to make routine visits to the Mahim police station, which was also the hub for investigations at that time. That's where a senior IPS officer tipped him about the big news! "Aapke MP ke Bete KA Naam Aaya Hai (Your MP's son's name has been dragged in the investigation)

"It did not take me long to figure out that the MP being referred to was Sunil Dutt. However, I could not confirm it since all the senior officers including the then commissioner of police Amarjeet Singh Samra. were tight-lipped," Parmar disclosed to PTI. He then called another IPS officer at Mahim Police Station to try his luck saying, "Suna Hai Apne Kisi MP ke Bete Ko Uthaya Hai (I have heard, you have arrested the son of an MP)

With that the ace journalist hit the bull's eyes, the officer responded saying "No, we have not, as he is shooting abroad," It was clear the person in question was none other than Sunil Dutt. That's how he got the BIG breaking story of his life!

“I told him (Sanjay Dutt) that his friends Samir Hingora and Yusuf Nulwala had squealed on him. “Oh my God,” said Dutt, and disconnected. Two hours later he called again, wanting to know about the punishment if he got caught.

I told him. If he surrendered with weapons, he would be charged under the Arms Act and could get bail. But if the police arrested him and recovered the weapons, he could be charged under TADA — without bail.”

This is an excerpt from an article that was published by a leading daily in the year 2007.

After 25 years, Rajkumar Hirani made Sanju – a film that he claimed to be a biopic of the Khalnayak star and the audiences too lauded the film so much so that it turned out to be the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema!

So we thought even Parmar would be very elated to watch the film. But that was far from the case. In a Facebook post, the veteran journalist describes Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju as an attempt to make a quick buck and savages it as a PR exercise without even watching it!

The Ace journalist also talks about the relationship he had with ace filmmakers of the past and how they would discuss about the underworld over a drink! He goes on to name very renowned filmmakers in his post in a bid to make the readers aware that his nexus with the film industry was extremely deep rooted!

    Excerpts from the post –

    1. During the last two days I have received hundreds of messages and requests to react on the film SANJU. First of all let me confess that I am not a film buff. The last time I went to watch a movie was in the year 1997.
    2. It is a waste of time to discuss the merits and demerits of films like SANJU or its protagonist Sanjay Dutt.
    3. Hirani and his ilk are out there to make a quick buck. That is their business and they have every right to do it.
    4. The use or misuse of drugs, sleeping with women, branding media as an addictive potion, finding faults with the system or society, willingly and knowingly indulge in criminal activity, showing no remorse for your past actions, playing the sympathy card and crying victim, if that is what SANJU is about, I do not regret my decision of staying away from the cinema halls.
