When Bollywood superstar Rishi Kapoor breathed his last after a longtime battle with leukemia, it left the entire nation shocked and heartbroken. But our loss was nothing compared to that of his family members. His wife and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor’s world was shattered and the only two pillars of support that she had were her son Ranbir and her daughter Riddhima. However, time heals everything. While he lives on in our hearts, Neetu ji found a way to get on with life as it is what he would have wanted.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, the actress opened up about her upcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo, co-starring Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani. She shared how it helped her get over the grief. When the Raj Mehta directorial went on floors in 2020, the actress had shared a special post which said, “While Kapoor Sahab, you aren’t here holding my hand, I know you are with me.” Looking back, Neetu ji stated, “I had gathered courage to work after Rishi passed away in 2020. I told myself that work would help me get over my grief. It was the only way to get on with life.”

While shooting in Chandigarh, Neetu along with Varun and Raj had contracted COVID-19. She felt terribly guilty and returned to her Mumbai house, self-quarantined and after testing negative returned to the sets in just 10 days. Sharing how it was initially tough to manage, she revealed, “I was being made to quarantine in Chandigarh but I wanted to return. Karan (Johar) arranged for me to be put in a plastic enclosure and transported in a charter air ambulance.”

Well, the shoot of the film was wrapped up in February 2021 and fans can’t wait to see it in theatres soon. We wish Neetu ji all the happiness and love!
