Jug Jugg Jeeyo: Varun Dhawan & Kiara Advani’s Film Is A Tale Of Two Couples From Different Generations

Jug Jugg Jeeyo was undoubtedly one of the most talked about films of 2020. Starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead, it went on floors in November last year. However, just a month later Varun and Neetu announced that they had contracted coronavirus. While Neetu flew back to Mumbai, Varun and director Raj Mehta, who also tested positive for COVID-19, decided to quarantine themselves in Chandigarh. Thankfully they had a speedy recovery and jumped right back into work a few weeks later.

According to a report shared by Pinkvilla, the romantic drama will follow the lives of two different couples. A source revealed, “It’s a tale of two couples from different generations, entangled around the issues post marriage. The premise beautifully merges the generation gap, and puts out a unique point of about love, but with ample of humour.” Mehta’s 2019 super hit Good Newwz, featuring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara, also focused on two different couples.

Well, the source shared that the key characters of both the films are two couples, but the treatment and the story is in a complete different space. While Good Newwz was about two couples who end up in a complicated situation after their IVF treatment goes wrong, Jug Jugg Jeeyo is more about families. In the film, Neetu will be portraying Varun’s mother whereas Anil will play his on-screen father.
