Kangana Ranaut Compares Her Journey With Shah Rukh Khan Says Theirs Are 'The Biggest Success Stories Ever'

Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday celebrated 15 years of her debut in Bollywood. Her first project Gangster helmed by Anurag Basu released in 2006 on this day and the actress celebrated the occasion with a tweet, comparing herself to Shah Rukh Khan and counting the battle she had to fight to get where she is.

The Queen actress called theirs the ‘biggest success stories ever’. However, in saying so Kangana pointed out that Shah Rukh Khan lived a privileged life in Delhi before becoming an actor while she hailed from a small Himachal Pradesh village.

Her tweet read: “15 years ago Gangster released today, Shahrukh Khan ji and mine are the biggest success stories ever but SRK was from Delhi, convent educated and his parents were involved in films, I did not know a single word of English, no education, came from a remote village of HP and every step was a battle starting with my own father and grandfather, who made my life miserable, and yet 15 years later after so much success still every day is a fight for survival but totally worth it, thank you everyone. #15yearsofgangster”

Shah Rukh Khan's journey of being a self-made star in an industry that is claimed to be biased towards outsiders often has served as an inspiration to many new generation actors. While practically jump at an opportunity to work with the star, Kangana had once famously said she'd never do a film with Shah Rukh or any other Bollywood 'Khan'.

Kangana earned the Filmfare Best Debut trophy for her impressive performance in Gangster. The same year she starred in another film Who Lamhe which is apparently based on the life of famous Bollywood actress Parveen Babi.
