Kareena Kapoor Opens Up On 20 Years In Bollywood; Calls Her Iconic Character Poo From K3G ‘Over The Top’

The gorgeous Kareena Kapoor Khan is undoubtedly one of the most adored stars of Bollywood. The actress began her journey opposite Abhishek Bachchan back in 2000 with J. P. Dutta’s directorial Refugee and went on to win many hearts with her powerful performances in films like Omkara, Heroine, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Udta Punjab among other super hits. However, her most iconic character was the sassy Poo aka Pooja from Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

In a recent chat with NDTV, the beauty opened up about the character and shared, “I think it was a difficult character to play. To be that over the top kind of character and be so convincing... I think the easiest thing is to cry and be emotional but to make people laugh and to kind of, you know, being a mainstream actor and play a character that has to be so over the top but so lovable is I think very difficult.”

Talking about her 20 years in Bollywood, Bebo shared, “I think it’s been quite an exhilarating journey if I may say. There’s been success and failure and everything. Of course, it’s been 20 years so it has to be. But yeah, 20 years and still counting.” When asked if she’s noticed a change in herself in all these years, she said, “I think earlier I was like this excited child, wanting to come on screen, Karisma’s younger sister.” She went on to add, “In fact, I just made a statement that day that I’m romancing all my sister’s co-stars. I used to be behind the camera when she would be working with Akshay, Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh and Saif and all of them. It just goes to show that how much work everyone has done. It’s just so amazing.”

Well, Bebo was last seen on the big screen in Good Newwz alongside Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani and is now busy gearing up for Irrfan Khan’s Angrezi Medium, Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan and KJo’s multi-starrer Takht.
