    Karna: Shahid Kapoor Roped In For Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Adaptation Of Mahabharata?

    There was a time when actor Shahid Kapoor’s career saw many fluctuations. While some of his films like Haider did great, a few others such as Shaandaar turned out to be critical and commercial failures. However, five years ago Shahid left us in awe with Udta Punjab and proved his versatility once again. Well he was last seen on the big screen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s hit film Kabir Singh and is now busy gearing up for his next, titled Jersey. The actor will also make his digital debut soon with Raj-DK’s upcoming web series.

    Basically the Bollywood heartthrob has a pretty bright future. Well, we have some really exciting news for Shahid’s fans! According to a report shared by Bollywood Hungama, the actor has now been roped in for filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s adaptation of Mahabharata. Produced by Ronnie Screvwala, the project will reportedly be told from the perspective of Karna, the spiritual son of Surya and Duryodhana’s friend. It has tentatively been titled Karna and Shahid will be portraying the titular character.

    In Kabir Singh, Shahid played the role of a surgeon who spirals into self-destruction after his girlfriend marries someone else, whereas in Jersey he will be seen as a 36-year-old cricketer who aims to play for the Indian team after a 10 year hiatus. The actor is definitely widening his horizons and his fans could not have been happier!
