Kartik Aaryan Felt He Was Being Underpaid For Dostana 2, Was Replaced Without Notice Mr. Lele? Read On..

Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan’s fallout no doubt came as a big shocker while fans sat patiently waiting for news on Dostana 2. Well, the makers are now proceeding without Kartik Aaryan after he was ousted from the project over alleged ‘creative differences’ and ‘unprofessional attitude’.

Dharma Productions released a statement saying they will re-cast for the project due to ‘professional circumstances’ and maintain a dignified silence on the fallout. A recent news report claims that the actor who had signed the film at a nominal fee was looking for a hike but was instead offered another project with Dharma which also he later didn’t get.

A Bollywood Hungama report claims that Kartik signed Dostana 2 in 2019 and was getting paid something between, Rs. 2-3 crores for it. The portal’s source claims that the actor who had later hiked his fee to upwards of Rs. 10 crores later went back to Karan Johar asking for a hike given his growing popularity. It was apparently mid-way shooting for Dostana 2 and this renegotiation wasn’t welcomed by Karan who tried pacifying the actor by offering him to lead Mr. Lele, a project in which he was later replaced by Vicky Kaushal.

The portal also claims that Kartik was upset about not being offered Shashank Khaitan's Yoddha and later decided to continue with Dostana 2 only after he was signed for Sharan Sharma’s cricket drama. Meanwhile, Kartik devoted time to shooting for Dhamaka and Karan decided to take Mr. Lele on floors in April which also features Dostana 2 actress Janhvi Kapoor.

Upset with this development the actor decided to offer the makers his April dates which would have made things difficult for Janhvi who he had apparently dated. Karan found the whole thing highly unprofessional while Kartik felt he was underpaid and the filmmaker wasn’t keeping up his end of the deal about a second project.  The whole thing blew up with a big fight.

Well, that seems like this Karan Kartik dostana wasn’t really meant to work out with so many professional issues in between. Reports have now been suggesting that after the actor’s departure from the project Karan approached actor Akshay Kumar for the movie.
