Kartik Aaryan Starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa Sequel Gets Anees Bazmee On Board To Direct The Film!

It had been reported a long time back that producer Bhushan Kumar is all set to bring the sequel of the 2007 psychological-horror-thriller Bhool Bhulaiyaa. It was also rumoured that Akshay Kumar will no longer be a part of the sequel and that Kartik Aaryan is being considered for the part. While it was also reported that Ayushmann Khurrana might replace Kartik, it seems unclear still whether this film too will have two heroes like the original. But one thing is for sure- this film will be directed by none other than Anees Bazmee.

The Welcome director has been roped in to direct the film. According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, a source informed, “After slapstick, family and youth-centric comedies, Anees wanted to explore the space of a horror-comedy and will spend the next few months developing the screenplay.”

The boost that horror-comedy received with Amamr Kaushik’s Stree has inspired films like Bhoot Police, Laxxmi Bomb and Stree 2. Now Bhool Bhulaiyaa will also join the list.

Anees Bazmee has recently wrapped up Pagalpanti, that will star celebs like John Abraham, Ileana D’cruz and Anil Kapoor. Anees, who has made hit films like Welcome, No Entry, Hulchal and Singh Is King, will direct a horror comedy for the first time with this film. Kartik is busy right now with Pati,Patni and Woh and will start working for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 once that is wrapped up!
