Katrina Kaif Was Offered ’83 Opposite Ranveer Singh? Actress Clears The Air!

The cast of ’83 is one of the most varied one to have been seen till date. Kabir Khan will recreate the historic moment of India’s victory in the Cricket World Cup of 1983 many regional film stars will make their Bollywood debut with this one including Amy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu and Chirag Patil. While the star cast consists mainly of actors, the character of Kapil Dev’s wife, Roma Bhatia, will have a significant part to play. Director Kabir Khan had been thinking about who to cast for the role for quite some time before he zeroed in Deepika Padukone. It had been rumoured that Kabir had been considering Katrina and were in talks with her, but she rejected the offer. In a recent interview, Katrina herself decided to clear the air.

Katrina said that she was never approached for ’83. She said, “There was no conversation around Kabir’s film. I was never in talks for ‘83. I know nothing about the film.” Katrina had earlier worked with the director for films like New York, Ek Tha Tiger and Phantom.

The actress was also asked about whether she is in talks with Zoya Akhtar for her next. To this, she replied, “As for Zoya’s next, I will be happy to work with her on any film she decides to cast me in but there has been no specific work conversation so far. She is a director you would give anything to work with. She’s phenomenally gifted and it’s hard to express what she gives you as a director. It’s such a gift to work with her. She’s an incredible person; and so is Kabir.” 

Katrina Kaif will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi, for which she will reunite with Akshay Kumar after almost 9 years!
