Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Laal Singh Chaddha has finally gotten a release date today. The film, which is the official remake Forrest Gump, would be releasing on Baisakhi next year. The film also stars Mona Singh in a pivotal role. Now, details about her role are out.

If a report in Peepingmoon is to be believed, then Mona Singh will essay the role of Aamir Khan's mother in a film. A source quoted by the portal said, "Mona Singh is playing the role essayed by Sally Field in the original 1994 Hollywood classic, Forrest Gump. She plays a strong single mother who loves her son unconditionally and raises him to believe that he's no different from anyone else despite his low IQ. It's only through her love and strength that Laal Singh Chaddha makes a significant impact in some of the key Indian events during 1968 and 2018." The same source also added that her dialogues will be more like slogans that will ring in Aamir Khan's character's ears and keep him motivated throughout the film.

Laal Singh Chaddha is one of those films that we have all been eagerly waiting for. The film will revolve around several decades and show events like Emergency, 1983 Cricket World Cup, Operation Blue Star, the Rath Yatra, and the 1999 Kargil War. It was also reported that the film will have cameo appearances of both the other Khans- Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
