    Lata Mangeshkar Admitted To The ICU After Complains Of Breathing Difficulty, Family Says Will Be Discharged Soon

     Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Breach Candy hospital in the early hours of Monday after she complained of breathing difficulties, hospital sources said. 

    The singer recently turned 90 on September 28 and is said to be is in a critical condition, by the hospital authorities. "She was brought to hospital at about 2 am. She is critical and in ICU," a hospital insider told PTI.

    An update on her health came from her niece Rachana Shah, "Lata didi suffered from a viral chest infection so we got her to the hospital. But now, she is on a path of recovery. Thank you for your concern."

    A living legend in the field of music she has lent her voice to over 1,000 songs in Hindi alone, was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honour in the country, in 2001. She was also awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award the most prestigious honour in Hindi cinema.

    The singer is an inspiration for an entire generation of musicians in the country and has sung for some of the most iconic films like Mughal-e-Azam, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Chandni, Sholay, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and many more.
