    Director Mahesh Bhatt had collaborated with Sanjay Dutt a number of times when they were both young. While Sanjay went through a tumultous phase in his life, Mahesh Bhatt too had stopped directing movies. As the latter makes a comeback to the director’s chair after 20 years with Sadak 2, he made sure to work with the former. As Sanjay Dutt celebrates his 60th birthday today, Mahesh Bhatt penned a heartfelt letter.

    He wrote on how he feels there is more depth and truthfullness in Sanjay Dutt’s work now and he can feel it as a director. He wrote,

    “Every time we are about to shoot an important scene, I see you dive deeper and deeper into the wilderness locked n the innermost chambers of your heart and bring out a fire which dazzles not only me but also the younger generation of actors, like Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. Watching you now I am absolutely convinced that as you touch 60, your “real” work, the work that stems from the “real” you, is just beginning.”

    He also talked about how his sufferings have actually helped him evilve as an actor.

    “Your life proves that it is by suffering, and suffering alone that one ceases to be just a mere acting machine. The periods of solitude that you’ve experienced in prison, face to face with suffering, have woken you up to deep love compassion and understanding. “

    He signed off by saying that Sanjay Dutt might have now eneterd his autumn years, but autumn is just another spring!

    Sanjay Dutt has a number of films on his kitty including Panipat, Sadak 2. Prasthanam remake, KGF 2 and Torbaaz.
