Maidaan: Sets Of The Ajay Devgn Starrer Almost Completely Destroyed By Cyclone Tauktae; Read Details

Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan has already faced some losses in the past due to the pandemic. The film, backed by Boney Kapoor and helmed by Amit Sharma, had its release dates pushed several times and the sets had been reconstructed after it was dismantled during the pandemic last year. Now, the sets have once again been affected, this time due to cyclone Tauktae.

the cyclone had hit Mumbai in the in the past couple of days and the sets of Maidaan became its victim. It is being said that the sets have been almost completely destroyed. A source told ETimes, "There were about 40 people on the set when the cyclone hit the 'Maidaan' set- the guards and the curators of the football ground which largely comprises the set. They tried their best to save as much as they could but their efforts proved almost totally futile."

Talking to Pinkvilla, Boney Kapoor said, "We had built an entire footfall stadium to shoot 8 matches in the final schedule. While we are done with 4 matches, the shoot was halted due to lockdown and now, the cyclone has destroyed our set. It's unfortunate, but everyone is suffering in some way or another. Thankfully, there is no injury to human life."

There is just 15-17 days of shoot left to be done. The film is scheduled for release in Dusshera and would clas with RRR.
