Maidaan Vs. RRR: Ajay Devgn Steps In To Resolve Matters Between S.S. Rajamouli And Boney Kapoor Over Dussehra Clash

Dusshera is still months away but clashes in the film fraternity have already begun over who will own the holiday with their movie release. The date originally locked by Ajay Devgn starrer pan Indian sports film Maidaan has been encroached upon by another big Ajay Devgn starrer RRR and it has sparked off a dispute between producer Boney Kapoor and filmmaker S.S Rajamouli.

Producer Boney Kapoor since the release date announcement of Rajamouli’s RRR has publically expressed his displeasure over the movie clashing with his film Maidaan. He called the Bahubali filmmaker’s move of announcing his film on Dusshera ‘unethical’ and the matter remains unresolved between the two.

Looks like Ajay Devgn who stars in both films has taken it upon himself to resolve the dispute and is reportedly trying to arrange a meeting between S.S. Rajamouli and Boney Kapoor. According to a Spotboye report, while Maidaan makers want to avert a clash and feel RRR should move, the RRR filmmaker feels that since the subject of the two films vary there is no problem.

Maidaan was announced for release six months prior for the 15th October 2021 release and right before Republic Day RRR was announced for release two days before Dusshera.

Reportedly both filmmakers refuse to budge and want to keep the Dusshera holiday for their films. Certain reports also claim that Ajay Devgn had requested RRR makers to correspond with Boney Kapoor on the release date.

With the contested holiday still a little further away only time will tell which film eventually moves up or down on the calendar or if either will move at all.
